Sharing a delicious meal with friends and family is one of my favorite things to do, so naturally for my birthday I wanted to eat and drink all day. After a wonderful brunch earlier in the day, I chose Pietro Nolita for my birthday dinner. It’s a deliciously tiny spot that offers Italian dishes in a sea of pink hues. There’s blush, flamingo pink, hot pink, millennium pink and more. There’s enough seating for roughly twenty-five people at the tables and three bar stools along the bar.
We were a group of six and were luckily seated right when I got there (Sadly they don’t take reservations. I was banking on December 30th not being too busy and the Universe smiled down on me). For the table the Caprino con Pomodoraccio and the Grilled Octopus were ordered. The Caprino is a crostini with a sundried tomato puree and goat cheese. It was divine. I do not like octopus in any form but my friends all made sounds of joy as they ate it tentacles and all. We all ended up getting pastas because they sounded amazing, plus the table next to us had received their food by the time we were ready to order and the aromas wafting over were delectable. I got the daily special that had sausage in it cause I love sausage! I also contemplated licking this plate but managed to stop myself.
The cocktails were all delicious! I had Violetta which has lavender vodka, elderflower and more and I had a sip of my friend’s Nolitarita, their version of a margarita, which had both tequila and mezcal. Our server and the bartender were sweethearts and made our experience superb. I can’t wait to come back and have more amazing food with the people that matter!
