For my birthday I wanted to drink and eat all day with my friends, so after getting my nails done I met my friend for brunch, bottomless mimosa brunch to be exact. This was my first time at their new location, because in previous years I’d been to their E Houston spot. Because my birthday is the day before New Year’s Eve, cold to frigid temps and snow are just part of the drill. Luckily the trio of mimosa flavors, orange vanilla, guava mint and guanabana elderflower warmed us up. The waiters are pretty quick to refill your glass and/or top off your glass, since it’s unlimited mimosas for an hour and a half.
My friend ordered the pork belly empanadas and I got the burrito bowl with shrimp. Her empanadas were baked liked the ones from Chile and Argentina instead of being fried like the ones from Colombia. The filling was delicious and the dipping sauces added just the right touch! My bowl looked exactly like the picture on their website and was so yummy I seriously contemplated licking the bowl but stopped myself only because I didn’t want to end up on some meme of people who should not be allowed in public.
The space is nice and bigger than you would expect from the entry. There’s a colorful mural that can be seen when you’re seated by the back window, and with the snow falling it looks kind of like a snow-globe. Even though the crowd at times can be quite young (just turned 21ish :/) I plan to go back, because the food and drinks coupled with really nice service made my birthday brunch a truly enjoyable time!
